Thanks

I looked at Top Gun Supply and while the conversion kit is listed, its status id out of stock. You'll also need a subcompact grip housing for the .45 and I could not find them listed on the Top Gun website.

Thanks for the help, I wasn't sure since the .45 is a little different. I've looked around the area and nobody has what I would need.

Thanks

Sig is NOT offering a Sub Compact in the .45 ACP. Very sad to say the least.

A subcompact grip will work with a compact slide.
The answer is there is no answer

I think the problem is there are no sub compact grips for the .45 in production. According to a Sig CS rep, who BTW has a .45 subcompact on order, the subcompact .45 is in the works - he thinks.

I got a small one from them a few weeks ago. The subcompact mags are expected on March 18th.

I guess I'm confused. In this thread, http://www.p250sig.com/f...Compact-in-45-ACP.aspx, Klaatu says,
Quote:
Sorry to disappoint, but Mark@Sig just told me I CANNOT order a 45 SC!! He said, yesterday they told him they will NOT be making/shipping/selling these. Did not explain why.
That was just 2 months ago.

Why would they be producing SC .45 frames if they won't be making SC .45s?

Just got a note from Mark@Sig again. I do know that different people @Sig have given different information.

The latest he sent me was and I quote from his email "They are not allowing orders for the SC .45 kit yet ... Engineering has not been happy with the amount of recoil"

So if they can get the bugs out we may actually get a SubCompact 45!

So how is it they're selling SC .45 grips and SC mags on March 18th as indicated in this thread? Confused

Confused Good question. Ask Sig. It may be that they are going to release a P250SC 45 pistol before they sell the Xchange kits. But that's just my opinion I could be wrong (plagiarized) and usually am.

A friend of mine lives a mile from SIG and buys lots of stuff from their LE store. He inquired about the mags for me and they told him March 18th.

I already have a small subcompact grip which I bought from them over a month ago. It fits the compact slide quite well, with a slight amount of airspace at the bottom front of the dust shield on the slide where the grip end is not quite long enough by about 1/16-1/8".

While it is cosmetic and would likely only be noticed by someone on the receiving end, I made up a little jig and built up an extension to close the gap with JB Weld which I then shaped and colored to match the rest of the grip. I have also sacrificed an extra compact grip by cutting down the butt to SC dimensions as folks have done with Glocks (but in this case, only the investment in the grip is at risk). I am waiting for the SC mags so i can finish the work on the grip and also use the SC grip without a mag sticking out.

I suppose if you wanted to use something other than JB Weld, you could grind off a bit of a sacrificial grip and mix it into a paste with some MEK, but I think the grip is ABS.

The first photo is the unmodified SC grip with the C slide, the second and third show the jig and the finished grip.

Nice job. It would appear that we have another craftsman in our midst.
