After shooting my p250 I had atleast 4 or 5 jams in each 12 round magazine. The shell casing was not being extracted, causing a jam. I don't know if it's extractor problems or what the deal is. It's a newer model p250 with a rounded trigger guard. Does anyone have suggestions as to what the problem may be???

I sent mine back to Sig with the same problems. Some will say that to try a different brand of ammo and see if that makes a difference. In my opinion, some cases that may be an option but extraction problems shouldn't really fall on the ammo per se. That's just my two pennies and what I did.

When you sent it back to Sig what did they do with it? Did they fix the extraction problem?

Don't know yet. They received it last Friday and I haven't got it back.

Dutchy07........ My failure to extract problems where directly related to a weak extractor spring on my practice/beater P250C. I pulled the springs on both of my 250's and the problem gun had a spring shorter than my daily carry gun. I "tweaked" the spring by stretching it with my fingers and the gun ran 100%.....I will get a new spring with a parts order in the future, but for now this is a range gun and it's running okay.

I think maybe Sig mass assembles so may guns that some out of spec springs slip through. I've had this happen on newer guns, but NEVER on guns from the 80's......m/w

MIkeWalsh...what would be the best way to go about the extractor issues? I don't believe it's the ammo, I was using Winchester ammo. Would i be better off notifying Sig to see what they have to say about the issue. I haven't shot 100 rounds out yet and have had nothing but problems with it

Might not help but its worth a shot, take a brass wire brush and try cleaning out the "hand" of the extractor. sometimes stuff gets in there and causes that to happen.

Just wanted to give a little update. I called Sig to check on the progress and I was told that they replaced the extractor and the extractor spring. Should come back either later this week or early next week. Now I can't wait so I can throw on my .357 kit and try it out.

KSargeant that's always good news! I just sent mine back to Sig on Monday. Hopefully it's just a problem with the extractor and extractor spring like yours!

I had the same problem. Man was I upset at first! My first trip to the range saw tons of FTE's! I shot 190 rnds that first trip and I had approx 30 FTE'S!. Now normally, I would send it back for a fix with the express purpose of SELLING it. But when I got it back, I gave it a second chance because of the very reasons I bought it. I REALLY liked the idea of the smooth DAO trigger (the same reason others HATE it) I think those who hate it ThumbDown are afraid OhMyGod of the trigger Laugh But anyway,... I have shot another 700 to 800 rnds through it without a single FTE so I guess it was fixed. I'm glad I gave it another chance because it is probably the best CCW I've ever had.

It is a shame that this problem, which is obviously an easy fix, was allowed to leak out into the market. But once a person gets familiar with the 250, it wins em over!
