I bought the 2Sum recently and had no problems the first or second trip to the range. However, on the third trip I had ten FTF (light strike) problems out of 100 rounds. The problem occurred with both Federal Champion and Speer Lawman, so I'm pretty sure it was not the ammo (BTW I got two of the 10 to fire with a second pull of the trigger). I talked to the gunsmith and he said, yep, light strike, send it back to Sig. But that night I got thinking that I had swapped the FCU between the Full and Subcompact and back to the Full again before the third trip to the range. Whenever I swap the FCU there is a tendency for the trigger bar and spring to pop out of place (especially if you mess with the trigger while the FCU is out of the frame). So I pulled the FCU out and made sure the trigger bar and spring were property seated before putting it back in the Full grip module. The next day I went to the range and put 100 rounds through the gun with no FTFs.

Moral of the story: if you suddenly develop a light strike problem and you have had the FCU out of the frame recently, pull it out and check the trigger bar and spring and reinsert before sending your gun back to Sig.

So one good day at the range with the P250F (100 rounds, no light strikes). Then back to range the next day and started getting 50% light strikes. I compared my P250C with my P250F and noticed on the F that the hammer was only going back 1/2 as far as the C. That would certainly explain the light strikes. I pulled the two FCU's out and compared them. They are both EAK serial #'s but the newest one (April 2010) was having problems and the older one (August 2009) was not. I could not see any visual difference as I pulled the trigger on both FCU while out of body.

I called Sig, reported the light strike problem. They quickly diagnosed the problem as the trigger bar. They asked me if I was mechanically minded, and when I said yes, they offered to send me out a new trigger bar (my other choice was to send the gun in). They said a new trigger bar should arrive in the mail in 7-10 days.

I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile I'll be shooting the P250C.

Sig shipped the replacement trigger bar. I stared at the two bars for awhile before I noticed a slight difference. The end of the new trigger bar that advances the hammer had a slight notch in it, where the original did not. I popped in the new trigger bar and no more light strikes while dry firing (the hammer went all the way back now instead of only half way back). I'll take it the range latter this week to test out, but based on the dry firing I think the problem is solved. I'll try to upload photos of the two trigger bars latter if I can get one that shows the difference. I checked the trigger bar on my other FCU (P250C) and it did not have a notch, but I have had no light strike problems with it. It is an older FCU (Aug 2009) vs. the new April 2010 FCU that came with my 2Sum. Perhaps they changed springs on the FCU and the new ones required this slight mod to the trigger bar.

Here are the images. The first one is the new trigger bar. Notice the little notch on the left that is missing on the old trigger bar below it.

New Trigger Bar that solved the light strike problem

Old Trigger Bar. Notice bar is smooth and not notched like the new one

I purchased my Sig P250 2Sum kit last Spring. I've recently been experiencing this issue on my P250 full size. This past Sunday (10/31), I was at the range, going through rounds 700-899, of WWB. I usually do 200 rounds of WWB and a couple mags of the carry ammo, Winchester Ranger during each visit to the range. I've fired everything from reloads, to WWB on up to the Ranger ammo through this weapon with no issues...until Sunday.

18 FTF's due to light primer strikes. I'll have to make that call to Sig. I have no problem swapping out that trigger bar. Hopefully, that will solve my problem.

How hard would it be to change out the trigger bar? Are specific tools and punches needed to do this job?
I am assuming I have the old one. I tried with a magnifying glass to see that extra notch but it is really difficult to see unless I take it out of the unit.

I've gone through approximately 1000 rnds and I had exactly ONE LPS so I could just stick with it but when I read that LPS began for you after 800 rnds, I begin to wonder.

SIG would probably send me one for free if I called and asked but it may not be worth it to me to try to.

The 250 has gone through so many changes it makes my head spin!!

I thought the trigger bar was pretty easy to swap out--just pay attention to which way the springs are attached when you remove the old one. However, several months after replacing the trigger bar I started getting light strikes again (10-20% of the time). Finally sent the gun back to Sig last week and waiting for it to come back.
