Hi, I ordered a 2sum last week then found this web-site. I hadn't heard of any reliability issues but dry firing a couple P250s at the gun store I noticed they have very light DA pulls. Do these pistols have any light strike problems that have been confirmed hammer related? not a gunked up firing pin or ammo related?

I'm used to 1911s and such where I can change springs till I'm blue in the face and these pistols seem to have no aftermarket springs (extra power) available.

Thanks in advance, glad I found this site :)

I can only speak of my experience and what I've read here. I bought the 2SUM back in Nov 09 and have over 1000 combined through both frame assemblies, the large majority through the subcompact assembly. I have not experienced a single malfunction or issue regarding reliability with mine, using a wide variety of ammo...pretty much anything with a brass casing. I carry the subcompact daily in an IWB holster.

FWIW, I bought my 2SUM w/ the intention of using the full-size for Home Defense and the subcompact for concealed carry. That worked for a while, but swapping the FCU back and forth daily became a chore. I wish that Sig would sell FCU's separately, but they don't.

Also, at the time of purchase, my dealer offered to mix calibers in my set (ex: 9MM subcompact and .40 cal full-size). I was trying to keep it simple at the time and decided to stick w/ 9mm for both. If I had it to do over again, I'd have opted for the full-size in .357 sig.

My 2 cents...

When I 1st saw the 2sum I thought it was a matched set of pistols at a great price so I jumped on it. When I learned it was a convertible (1 pistol) I thought it was still an attractive deal. I then thought, Hey! I want one in 45ACP but I was told only 9mm and possibly 40, but they hadn't seen any 40s. I really like the 45 Full size and I wouldn't be surprised if I don't talk myself out of the 2sum and buy the 45. Too early to tell but I've always been impatient when special ordering something.

Anyhow, I'm needing a pistol that has a 100% reliability rating. I'll accept some break-in glitches inside the 1st 200-300rds but it needs to run perfect once it's broke in.

I wish the 2sum was multiple calibered. I wouldn't mine selling off the Subcompact kit in favor for a full sized 45ACP. to go with the full size 9mm.

I've got 2,000 rds through my Tutone P250 in .45acp with Zero FTF, FTE and no light strikes! Runs like a champ!

As an instructor, I can tell you that there is no such thing as a 100% reliable gun of any kind. That's why we train heavily with Malfunction Drills.

Having said that, you're talking about a Sig Sauer. It's not considered one of the most (if not THE most) reliable guns ever for no reason.

If you're going to pick a gun that statistically has little to no malfunctions, you cannot have a safer bet than to get a Sig. I have bet my life on it.

I have an old beater 226 that has had 4 barrels through it without a problem. Once, for the fun of it, I thought I'd wait to see how long the beater 226 would go without a cleaning. At 7000 rounds (almost), I broke down and cleaned it....but it never once had an issue.

I too had lite primer strikes on quite a few attempts. Varied the ammo. Sent to Sig and had a very quick response, and they sent back with a new trigger bar and now no reliability problems.
