I've owned a P250 9mm compact for a few months now. I am new to semi automatic pistols so take my comments with a grain of salt.
Why'd I buy a P250? There are lots of really great pistols out there, so curbing my enthusiasm and narrowing it down was not easy. First cut was buying American made. I'm going to do every bit I can to keep money, jobs, manufacturing and innovation thriving in the US - especially for small arms! Sig's grown its Swiss roots into a US development and manufacturing operation. I spent a day at Sig Academy and narrowed things down to a P226 and P250. The P226 DA/SA was my favorite to shoot and I was more accurate with it. I decided on the P250 for its simplicity as a carry and protection gun. Maybe its my lack of experience with semi automatics, but I like the idea of just loading a magazine and shooting. First shot same as the next shot. No safetys, decocking lever or indicators to think about.
First few hundred rounds went off without a glitch (American Eagle and Remington). Then I got 3 failures to extract (shells jammed tight in the barrel). Disappointed to say the least. Thinking it may have been the Speer Lawman I was using, I've gone back to American Eagle and have shot another 500 rounds with no FTE's.
The gun's slide lock has been acting up a bit - I'm going to post that over on the Issues section.
Biggest improvement so far was switching to a large grip module. Used it for first time last night and it gave me better control.
Although my accuracy is getting better, its still not what I could get with the P226. Some of that is barrel length I suppose, but I am thinking I just need to figure out the P250's trigger better.
