Well let's make a long story short, I'm a GLOCK shooter. However, I found a used P250 compact at a local gun shop and it fit my hand, a lower with a Nitron 9mm upper and a stainless .40 S+W upper, w/night sights and 2 mags for each caliber for the price of a new P250, 2 guns in one deal! The plastic card and my CPL hit the counter and I signed my life away......

After a 1000 flawless rounds through the 9mm tube I am extremely impressed with this gun. I was looking for a 9mm as a serious high cap carry gun that could be handled safely without a holster. The accuracy of this gun is dead on spooky and pure SIG. I haven't used the .40 S+W upper yet because the 9 has worked out so well...... I really think it may edge out my trusted G-19 as my "don't leave home with out it" gun.

I'm reading a lot of blogs about the short-comings of this design, but it's a different animal right now, as the Glock was back in the late 80's. I think SIG's got something that's going to be hot.........ThumpUp

Agreed with everything you said, except the holster part. For safety reasons I carry my 250 holstered. All my other guns are now gone in favor of the 250, including 3 sigpros.

Welcome and thanks for a refreshing view on this gun. It's truly revolutionary and as such misunderstood.

Okay, I went to the range this weekend with the .40 S+W upper and an assortment of factory ammo, and some match handloads loaded for my limited class Glock 22 (180gr.Berry bullet w/ 4.8gr. Green Dot). My first shot was at an IPSC target @ about 10 yards out with 180 gr. HydraShok....... Dead in the "A" zone. The next 2 shots right there too, 1 paster to cover 3 holes....WOW!

After testing more than 300 rounds, I had NO MALFUNCTIONS with this weapon! Hey, the 9MM upper ran though over a 1000 rounds with out a hiccup and the .40 delivers the same performance....Baby, I going to grab more of these guns off the used market as the deals pop up............SIG'S GOT A WINNER HERE FOLKS!ThumbsUp

Did your 250 come with the small frame? If not is there a big differance between the small and the medium.

Both my P250 9 mm and 40 cal came with the med frame, I bought the small frames for my wife and I. I can tell a big differance in felt recoil with my 40 between the sm and med frame. The sm has a lot less although the same amt of muzzle flip. I can shoot all day with the sm frame and after two mags with the med frame I am ready to quit.

I ordered the small P250 compact frame from Express Police Supply. The gun was purchased with a medium frame, as I believe all are factory sold. The small frame gives me an advantage in grip and with a short trigger works well with a gloved hand, and hey, it fits the wife's hand nicely too!...Hmmmm, I have yet to hold a sub-compact, now that might be a real trip!.......m/w

My P250c came with the medium frame. Can anyone who has the med and small frame maybe take some comparison pics of them? Im wondering if the small frame is any thinner.

While I don't have pictures, I can tell you that the size of the grips S,M,L are based on the thickness of the grip. The S will be thinner than the M. I have the M and L, the S being too slim for me.

Backing my fellow P250 partner up, here are some pics I posted on the forum:

I too bought a small frame from Express Police Supply, for a reasonable price.

I'm sad I bought a P250 9mm Compact and the extra (small) grip just as Sig started manufacturing them with the new grip (which uses a different magazine, too).

But I have applied skater tape to the front and back straps of my "old style" grip -- wow, what a great grip now. (I think this is what Sig is after with the change in grips on the 9mm Compact to the more aggressively stipled straps).

Next I will try using a Dremel tool to take away the ridges in the flatter parts of the front and back strap to make a place for the skater tape to fit into the back and front straps better -- it should look like it was meant to be there, and it should be very solid and long-lasting. It is especially useful on the P250 which has some muzzle flip (being a light pistol) and a somewhat slippery grip, particularly on the backstrap (your experiences might differ).

Roversig would you be interested in trading your old style small frame for a new style small frame?

My small frame P250C 9mm continues to be my daily carry gun. We've got better than 3500 rds downrange and this piece just performs better at each outing, ya I'm learning the trigger. Smile No failures of any kind to report. I've read a post that says this gun has been discontinued?......That would be a really mistake, anybody got a real feel from Sig on that? It would not make much sense that his would be true seeing that Sig has just re-instated the frames with heavier dust covers to upgraded the rails.

I carry my P250 40 too, Its dependable with good JHP. Round count is close to 2K. Lately I've been having a few ftf's with WWB and UMC, none with the federal stuff. I think its the inconsitent charge in this target ammo, some rounds definately dont go as strong as others, the good JHPs have been awesome. I have never had it malfunction with a good JHP, HST's, Hydroshocks, Ranger T's, Gold Dots etc.

My experience has been somewhat different in that my both my 9mm p250 (1,000 rounds) and my 45 ACP p250 (450 rounds) have been flawless with Federal Champion, WWB, Remington UMC, and Federal American Eagle as well as Speer Gold Dots. I do not yet have a 40 cal p250 but it is on the wish list along with the 357 SIG.

The custom stippling is a nice touch. Who did the work ? You can't tell where the original meets the custom.
