Can anybody tell me if it would be okay to sand on the slide. I would plan in using 1200+/- grit paper on a block. Check out the pics below to see what I am talking about. Any tips or ideas would be great. If I should not do this, please say so and why not to. Before and after (hopefully)

Shane has polished the barrel and the pieces you have in the picture. You may want to try to get in contact with him to see what he thinks. He has his own site for his holsters, but I have not seen him on here in a while. I don't see what it would hurt, but it will most likely void any warranty. Guess you could check with Sig on that.

Save your time, and put your energy ( and money) into shooting and ammo..........Beat up guns covered with skateboard and digging (I mean character!) win matches and survive on the street.......m/w

I figured I would use it as my "guinea pig" before I start my 1911 project. Since I retired the Sig to the nightstand my new carry is a G26, but I don't plan on beating the S**t out of it either. I don't think a gun should be scarred for me to be efficient/combat accurate with it.

After alot of thought I have decided to send the slide to CCR for Cera-Hide finish. Along with the slide I am sending the trigger, mag release, takedown lever and slide lock lever. I will update with pics when I get it back. Here is a pic of the "idea".

I didn't see the post on Oct 1, so just now seeing the pics. I think it looks good. Looks like chrome. I worry about rust though. I see you have since decided to get a finish, but I liked the road you were on.

I should be getting the slide/controls back from CCR any day now (they have shipped - in transit!!!). As soon as I get everything in my hands and back together, you all will be seeing a pic of the finished work. I shipped it to them on 10/7/09 so I am very excited to get it back.

I liked the two tone look from the beginning, so I just bought mine with the stainless slide. Is your's going to be a polished shiney finish? That would look awesome. I can't wait to see the pics. Also, how much did the job cost?

All P250's come with a SS slide, but some/most have the Nitron finish like mine had. The first go-round from the first pics cost me about $5 in sandpaper, but the CCR job will end up around $140 if you include shipping costs. If you were to send them the entire gun (w/SN) it would cost more due to shipping/transfer. They are doing Crea-Plate so it's not just a painted finish, it's plated. That should hold up really well for years to come. Thanks for the compliments!! On another note, I got a message at Sigforum from Mary or Brad (owners of CCR) yesterday, they sent it to me with the wrong postage so it was returned. They did get it back in the mail yesterday so hopefully I will have it by Saturday. When they told me, I felt like my dog died.
