I use a little Hoppes on the barrel but have switched to grease for everything else. I have found that with the grease I can use more lube (which the P250 likes) and it won't spread to areas that I don't want wet (chamer/firing pin channel).

I have heard some people buy a quart of Mobile1 (synthetic oil that protects against heat and friction). A quart of that would last me 5 years.

I use the kind in the jar (don't remember the brand name). I would think the spray would be very messy but it would work I guess. It don't take much.

I like and use Breakfree CLP, the OTIS CLP for barrels and I have heard from a very reliable friend that Remoil is very good becaus it doesn't flow as much as the CLPs. I'll stay with the Breakfree and OTIS CLPs because I ended up buying them in bulk and have a bunch on hand.

Sig Sauers lubrication philosphy is be liberal but not excessive. They say if it is shiny, lube it, and that if you can touch the part and see a print, that is OK lube.

oil offers little protection (against premature wear) for your frame/slide; grease prolongs the the life of your gun

The oil vs. grease decision is a very heated topic Laugh ala Ford vs. Chevy

Many firearms will not experience the thousands of rounds through them that may be helped by grease to prevent premature wear. I do know from 1911 work that lubing with grease is also one of those a little goes along way. I recall one guy who lubed his 1911 up with Wilson ultima white grease and on the first round it was like a "grease-thrower" with a white grease fog exploding from the pistol.

For my duty or ccw applications, I am weekly going through the firearm and ensuring sufficient yet not excessive CLP at the important lube points. IMO Daily use machines require that regular maintainence to remove dust, dust bunnies, and replace lube.
