Well first off I've read a bunch of interweb stuff about Sig and the P250 etc. Lets put all that aside and allow me to share my P250 compact 9 mm experience.

I've run 400 rounds through my P250 with zero problems. 250 UMC and 150 WWB. Combat accuracy was obtained for the first 250 rounds, and groups tightened for the last 150 rounds. I was shooting 9/10 rings on a B27 target at 7 yards.

The DAO trigger is very smooth and is enjoyable to me, as I am used to shooting wheelguns.

The only oddity for me is I am not able to do the typical chamber check by slightly pulling the slide back to see brass. The hammer spring(s) tension make me eject the round. Hence loading of a magazine from slide lock, or the mag fed carbine check is appropriate (i.e. mag with brass at the 15 round mark, rack, remove mag and see no brass at the 15 round hole).

The P250 concept is really neat. Stamped frame, interchangeable grips, slides etc. But what is really neat is 35 total parts (not including mag).

So far my opinion is two thumbs up! ThumbsUp

just got my new p250 9mm compact. i feel that the trigger pull is not that heavy. does it get lighter and lighter with more rounds fired? im just concerned with the steel frame where the slide travels,,, i just hope it would last long with continued use.

Hi and welcome. You can check for brass. I've done this by holding the muzzle end of the slide with my thumb and index finger and pushing the slide back just a bit. It is a bit difficult at first but after doing it long enough you get to learn how much pressure to apply to get a successful check. Also yeah, 35 parts makes for a simpler gun. Less things to go wrong.

Thanks: 1 times
I've never really heard of anyone checking for a loaded round by bringing the slide back a little. I always just relied on the loaded chamber indicator or removing the magazine and looking up into the magazine well while the muzzle was pointed down. Am I missing another reason for checking it with the slide or if it just something that you've done in the past? I'm not being critical...just curious.

At our dept., we load one into the mag then insert said mag into the grip and rack the slide--loading the chamber. Now, we remove the mag from the gun and load 15rds--return mag to grip. Its called the administative load and as far as I know we have never had an OOPS!

I normally fill the mag, insert, rack, drop mag and then load another round in the mag to get full capacity. I don't know if there is a wrong or right way. Both seem equally safe.

Agreed dosborn81, either method works, safety first.

Thanks guys for all the replies!

I am going to the range today and will try the added pressure for the chamber check. Yes, the administrative loading check is what I was refering to!

Ran another 100 rounds through the P250 9mm after running 50 first through the 45 caliber conversion.

Here is a pic of the last 30 rounds on a B27.

ThumbsUp No one can say the P250 is not accurate! I am very stoked and happy with it.

Thanks! Affirmed, 7 yards, slow fire, no time limit, just focusing on a smooth trigger pull and that front sight picture.

i got a p250 9mm compact last month and have fired around 500 rounds on it. no failure to extract problem on it but i have experienced light strikes on different kinds of ammo. the accuracy was good for a compact though i wish a shorter trigger pull on it. would you suggest guys if i replace it with a short trigger being sold as an accessory? I have the short trigger ($35 - easy to install) and it makes a little difference. If you get the small grip/frame it would make it even better. There will always be that "longer than usual" pull compared to most other makes/models. I was talking about this yesterday with reddog4321 and suggested Snap Caps. They will help you alot with the trigger. Read this if you have a moment..... http://www.p250sig.com/f...er-MK-III-22LR.aspx#1711
