Just received my P250c after spending the last week and a half at Sig. I am pleased with the service, although slightly puzzled, in a curious way, about their reply.
First off, I contacted Sig because my P250 slide would not lock to the rear on any of my three 16 round magazines. This condition existed whether racking the slide by hand or firing the weapon.
Secondly, none of my mag's would actually hold 16 rounds. Pushed with all my might, but just wasn't happening. I read the info from one of the other threads, took the mags apart and inspected the followers and springs. They were correct and installed correctly as well. Reassmbled mag's, tried again but to no avail.
Based on the positive experiences from others with Sig's turns around time, I decided to give them a try. Neither problem was monumental, but the gun should work as advertised. So, with this in mind I emailed Sig about the problem.
Email traffic between 2 different reps took about 5 days to get a shipping label email to me.
I specifically asked the rep if they wanted just the gun or the gun with all my mags. I was told the gun only, so away it went. 4 days later i was asked to send in the mags as well, because they couldn't diagnose the problem. I requested that my 16 rounders not be replaced by 15 rounders while they were there if it wasn't required. Sig told me that even though they had discontinued selling the 15 rounders, they had "plenty," of 16 rounders in stock in the event that there was something wrong with my mags that required replacement. They emailed me another shipping label and away the mags went.
A few days later I missed the first attempt by FED EX to deliver. I did not receive notice from Sig about the corrective action, nor the return shipping date. Today my wife was home to sign for the pistol and i opened it about an hour ago.
First off, Sig sent the pistol and mags back to me in a new, blue pistol case. There was a report included with my initial complaint and the service guys notes. He stated that he had fired 50 rounds through the gun (a box top from the bullets was included) and that the problem could not be duplicated? Hmmm, can't be duplicated? That was odd. So, I popped in one mag after another to find that the slide not only locked to the rear, but it did so with authority. No amount of fumbling could prevent it from locking to the rear. Interesting...
I then decided to load up the mags for my next trip to the range, hoping that this would break the springs in a little more and discovered that all 3 mags could now take all 16 rounds? It wasn't easy, but it was no more difficult than loading the last round on any auto pistol I have fired. I inserted the mags again one by one and it appears that they fit the gun better than they had before. Originally I could provoke the slide to lock back if pushing up on the mag, and now they fit nice and snug.
So, Sig gives me back my gun and states they could not duplicate the problems, but the gun is fixed? I am very pleased that it is better and working correctly. The turn around time was quick and didn't cost me anything out of pocket. Communication wasn't perfect by email, but it may have been better had I called, of which I wasn't to concerned. Did they fix it and not admit to it? Did they disassemble/re-assemble, thereby causing something to line up better than before? Who knows???
I'll write back to say how it fires (was flawless before except for the above) once I get time to go to the range. Overall I would give Sig an 8 for the whole ordeal, with communication being the only thing that wasn't picture perfect. If anyone has a problem with their gun, I would definitely recommended sending it back for repair.
