I also posted this under the 9mm section where some users with the 9 were having the same issue.
I just purchased a P250 40 and when I used it at the range I found that when I put a loaded magazine in my sig also released and chambered a round without me using the slide release. I emailed tech services at SIG they said that the pistol is not supposed to do that. They want me to ship the pistol back to SIG. My slide also on the right side has a 1/16 gap between the slide and release so that side doesnt make contact. I purchased some 40 snap caps from my gun shop and tried it with them. The slide released again with those dummy rounds. I noticed when you slam an empty mag in it does not do it, but when you slam a loaded mag with real or snap caps the slide releases. If you put it in gently it doesnt but if you insert the slide as in a combat situation it releases. Any of you get resolution yet? You should contact SIG tech services to advise them you are also having this issue.

They are supposed to email me a Return authorization # and send me prepaid shipping and instructions today. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Got the UPS and shipping instructions yesterday afternoon, will be shipping it off from the UPS Hub on Monday. They said the UPS stores wont accept firearms so I have to go to a UPS Hub directly and it should be back in 14days or so if problem is resolved. Hopefully it will be resolved. The action on it is as nice as my custom action job on my Colt Diamondback revolver. Its much better than my P228. Cant wait for the 45ACP conversion kit to come out for it, I hope they come out with a 22 kit for some inexpensive plinking. Another issue is it seems tempermental on ammo feeding, one box of range ammo would jam but some brazilian and Russian Wolf brand steel ammo worked perfect. The box of range ammo seemed to be the problem child. I let them know about that issue also.

Received my P250 40 back from the factory. They stated that the slide release had to be adjusted. I tested it at home with snap caps and it seems to being working perfect now. Will take it to the range and put some live ammo through it to see if adjustment repair holds under normal recoil. SIG took care of the issue quickly, out and back to me quickly, went out on the 12th and came back yesterday the 22nd. Hope they come out with a 22 conversion for it also. Can't wait for the 45 conversion to come out also.

This happened to me also. Only once in 6 reloads. Strange, but otherwise nice action.
