Interesting visit at a local gun shop today. Wife and I were checking out some compact/sub-compact pistols today and she mentioned that she liked the looks of the sig (pointing at a p250). Sales guy says, "The 250, I wouldn't recommend that gun to anyone." When I asked him why he said that it just felt like crap and proceeded to show us a Taurus PT140 and a Kahr PM9. I asked him what he thought about how the 250 handled at the range and he said that he hadn't fired on; they just didn't feel good to him? I handled the Taurus which seemed top heavy compared to the 250, and the PM9 which racked like a rusty gate. When looking at the 3, the 250 stood out as well above the standard of the two that were being pushed.
I had written on another board that it seemed as though the 250 was suffering from the same bias that happens to any new gun. I haven't had the opportunity to fire mine yet (about 2 weeks old) but it doesn't feel bad. Actually, it's feels great and seems to be in the same category as my G19. What I am surprised by is how quickly people are jumping on the , "the 250 is junk," band wagon w/o even trying it.
I must admit that i am dissappointed that sig backed out of the 20 rd mags for the full size 9, but I am still quite pleased with the gun.
Anyone else noticing this trend in 250 bashing from folks who've never touched the thing?
