picked up my p250 9mm last friday, feb/13/09, first sig product i have purchased. The gun salesman was kinda pushin' it which, normaly makes me think twice about a purchase, however the modularity of the p250 system seemed very interesting. At first i thought might be just a novelty but after thinking twice about it, one gun same trigger pull, same simple working parts, i figured in the long run it would be cheaper if i wanted to get a different caliber and easier to adjust to the particular calibur... caliber... anyways... yea. I've only fired about 100 rounds through this beasty of some 5 year old, from date of purchase, 9mm 115gr speer lawman round nose ammo i still had from when i owned a glock 17c, it shoots fine so far but after finding this site i'm more than a little concerned... concernd... (it's past my bed time). The date on the box my gun came in is feb/16/08, it's a "flat top",9mm, compact, two tone, with the sig night lite sights with of course, c-m on the right side of the grip module really small, by mag opening, towards the rear of the grip, which i take to mean compact medium, sn EAU003xxx. Not used to DAO but i'm able to keep all my rounds on the ol' shoot'n'see.

1. is this there specific date of manufacture, feb 08 to oct 08, for instance of this gun that's really crapy?
2. how about SN#? what ranges that are really crapy? i realize this P250 is about a year old but still...
3. the slide doesn't have the little "c" after the P250. what is the "c"?, compact?, and why is it not on my gun?
4. what the hell did i just buy, a kick@&$ paper weight???Cursing

other than beeing freaked out, handles great, simple to use, although if i found this sight sooner i probably would've purchased the Berreta px4. Thanks ThumbsUp

The problem is, as with most sites, most people do not post unless they have issues. We have close to 100 members here and only about 30 have ever posted anything. There are many more of us that have not had the issue that most have. I have an older P250 and have not many problems. There was no "run" of P250's that are bad. Some owners just experience issues that can come from any number of factors, including manufacturer defect and also from the user. Shoot a good number of rounds through yours, make sure you have no issues, keep it clean, and then come back here and post your results, GOOD or BAD!!! Enjoy being a P250 owner!!!

I love my p250, it shoots great. I've got a few buddies I go to the range with, one has a Ruger, one has an XD. The ruger is crap compared to the XD and p250. the XD is nice, but the p250 is just a better gun. its feels better in my hands, it is better balanced than the XD, its just a better overall gun. you didn't buy a bad gun, its a great gun. I've beening thinking about eventually getting another one, I want to eventually get the sub-compact, and full size and want to have one as an ankel carry, and my current p250 to be compact for IWB carry, and be able to switch to fullsize for the range for more capacity. I don't think the fullsize is avaliable yet, but the 9mm version fullsize can carry 20 rounds.ThumpUp

over time i think you'll find that the p250 can fit several niches in your collection. any issues i've had turned out to be my own weak arthritic hands and not lubing the slide enough during breakin. once i figured out which grip fit me best and which ammo is the least punishing on my hands and shoots point of aim then the grin on my face keeps getting bigger every time i go to the range. i seem to remember one change that sig made at some point with a spring issue. it had to do with using a spring with 4 coils instead of 3, mine already had the 4 coil sping so i dont remember the details. my p250 has a born on date of may 08 and hasnt had any recalls as of january when i last talked to sig customer service. i cant wait for the sub compact stuff to hit the market so i can fill my carry conceal wants/needs and get that broke in and tested. the way i've got it calculated i'm going to fill my 3 wants/needs much cheaper this way than with 3 different pistols. i'm a satisfied p250 owner now that i've tested enough to get it to fit correctly and what ammo i'm most accurate with. heck, expermenting to get it just right is half the fun! like hawk said, lube it clean it and shoot the heck out of it.

sweet thanks for the pep talk guys, i got another 165 rounds through it today, and when i was finished shooting i started thinking about how alot of people out there really like the glock pistol, i have had 2, about three years apart. The first glocked i owned was a 17c which stove piped about every three round or so and my friend got a glock 19c which had zero problems, i told myself no more glocks... so a few years later i looked into a glock in 45acp the 36, i think, slim line and it did the same damn thing. So now, no more glocks for me for sure, but some people love shiz out of them. Peace.

I never liked the Glock 23 I owned. I do however like the Sig 250. No problems whatsover except I seem to shoot a bit low with it. Trying to adjust my grip to see if that helps out. My only complaint is the unavailability of kits such as the sub compact one. Even Sig doesn't seem to know what is going on with them.

I love my P250 9mm. I have had no problems with my sig. You dont needto worry about your purchase. You have a firearm that will last a lifetime and can be handed down to your children. I was at the gun show this weekend and I was talking to a soldier who said he did training with sigs and he has seen 120,000 rounds put thru the sigs they have and they are still going strong with no sign of wearing out. You cant say that about very many guns on the market today!
