I think Ordanance Outsellers said they had some. You may want to get in touch with them. |

I'm wondering if SIG got it right with the .40 in terms of reliability.

I just purchased a P250 40 and when I used it at the range I found that when I put a loaded magazine in my sig also released and chambered a round without me using the slide release. I emailed tech services at SIG they said that the pistol is not supposed to do that. They want me to ship the pistol back to SIG. My slide also on the right side has a 1/16 gap between the slide and release so that side doesnt make contact. I purchased some 40 snap caps from my gun shop and tried it with them. The slide released again with those dummy rounds. I noticed when you slam an empty mag in it does not do it, but when you slam a loaded mag with real or snap caps the slide releases. If you put it in gently it doesnt but if you insert the slide as in a combat situation it releases. Also I noticed it would jam on some flat nose range rounds, I ran a box of Russian Wolf brand through after that and that brand worked without issues. But these two issues concern me greatly. Hopefully SIG will correct the slide release issue.

The right side mag release doesn't actually contact the slide, it's designed that way. The slide release lever is one piece so if you push the right side it actually releases the left side sending the slide forward.

Quick question from the new guy. If i order a comversion kit from say...top guy or anyone. Do they have to ship it to a FFL like it was a new gun? Or is it just considered spare parts? Would like to get the 40 or possible 45 kit if they ever become available.

No FFL required to ship the slide and barell to you. That's why Sig placed the numbers where they did.
My 40 cal has performed flawlessly for about 150 rdns of Blazer ammo.
Also have a 226 in 40. Really wanted the 250 in 9mm but this was all they had and the sale was over the next day.
I was told by the salesman that all I need was a barell change to go to 9mm. Now I find out that I need the slide ect.
Looking for a trade now. 40 for 9mm.
