WOW- after reading some pretty discouraging reports about FTFs, FTEs, etc. I took my 9mm compact to the range for it's maiden voyage today. I ran 200 assorted rounds through the pistol, including 124 grain Wolf (steel case) and UMC FMJs and Winchester 147 grain LE JHPs. Not a single malfunction. At 7 meters it was spot on- one ragged hole.
Probably the most pleasant surprise was the trigger. When dry firing, it seemed like the world's longest pull, but live fire was a different matter altogether- follow up shots were fast and felt completely natural. I was actually surprised a few times when the pistol fired. I chalk that up to the fact that this trigger has no stacking at all. Granted, the recoil may be more manageable than the .40 cal, which I have not shot, but if the 9mm is any indication, follow up shots with this trigger are not a problem. This will be replacing a USP .40 compact as my primary carry weapon. The build date on my pistol is October of 2010, so I am hopeful that Sig has worked out the problems reported earlier. The ergonomics of this pistol are super for me. I have medium sized hands, and the feel of this pistol in my hands is second only to my 1911s, and equal with my XD45 service model.
