Hey All,

Had some parts and peices of my 250 9mm sent out to have some work done. Had the barrel nickel plated and engraved, the controls nickel plated , added a stainless steel guide rod and the slide and mags cerakoted. It came back and after assembly it looks absolutely amazing.

However,

Went to the range today and must have experience atleast 40% light primer strikes until the gun dirtied up a bit and things wore in.

What im thinking may have happened is both the hammer and safety lever were nickel plated as well, Do you think the less resistance of the nickel plating on them has caused the hammer to slip forward to early. The safety lever is the small disk that assembles next to the hammer. both pins go through it as well as the hammer. When its assembled its quite loose and rocks back and forth easily until the slide is placed on then things tighten up a bit. I dont remember it doing that before , however it has been almost 2 1/2 months since i last fired it and took it apart before having the work done. Anyone had these issues before, Never had light strikes before so Im looking to remedy this situation as the gun normally sits ar home loaded to fight just in case.

I polished my parts and never had any light primer strikes. Having your pieces nickel plated would actually ad more material to them, not awhole lot more, think its like 0.0015mm. Not much to make a difference. I would have t say that it has something to do with a spring. Look at those first and see what happens.

That's whats confusing me , the increased material means a bit more friction. All springs seem good ( Trigger Bar, Slide Catch ). Anyone way some can get me a photo of the FCU close up showing the hammer and safety lever position just to verify.

Check this http://www.p250sig.com/f...st64_FCU-Tear-Down.aspx

If this link doesnt work go under the "9mm maitnace" section and itll be at the top of the page.

This is the site I used for Teardown and assembly. It seems loose however, Loose enough that the hammer slips forward before the springs would normally cause it to do so.

If I can describe it well enough here is the back side assembly. 2 springs in Hammer , Sandwhich hammer between FCU frame with safety lever on right side ( with FCU oriented as it would be with firearm held in firing position ) Large pin straight through and smaller pin through and over the springs.

On the safety lever , there are some small dimples or nipples I'd call them. Are these what actually grab a hold of that hammer and pivot it on the pin when the trigger is pulled? Should that safety lever be loose when against the hammer when assembled or tight. I can move mine back and forth easily on its pivot point. I used to be able to trigger pull and the hammer would snap forward as normal when the slide was off. Now it slips to early unless the slide is on and then its about 25% early slip ratio.

I would try and tear it down again and look at everything again to make sure it is assembled together correctly. If you can post some pics that would be a big help too.

+1. It sounds like a "disk" out if sync with a pin, if you know what I mean. I am horrible on the vocabulay of the exact part names if you can't tell.

Thats the only thing I can think of, if it was working before it was torn down to be worked on then something sounds like it out of place or just not seated correctly.
