First time SIG owner. Just bought a P250c 9mm, old style made in March 2009. I grew up on Colt 1911s and S&W revolvers, but I have wanted a SIG for quite a few years. Other than that it was an impulse buy - the price was right and I just happened to be walking by. At least I had read some magazine articles, so I was familiar with the modularity and such. I brought it home and jumped on the Internet and found nothing but P250 bashing. I was a bit disheartened. Had I made a mistake? What would my wife say if it was a jammer like everyone said? Well, so far so good. 300 rounds at the range today with my kids and not a single jam, hiccup or wobble. Used some Speer Lawman loads and some American Eagle, mostly from full magazines. Heavy sigh of relief. I understand 1911 guys not liking the long trigger (ANY trigger is long compared to a 1911) but I was also a revolver guy (still am) so trigger pull didn't get me down. Double taps were a bit tough, but accuracy was outstanding and it went bang every time the trigger was depressed. I am very pleased. What I mostly desire is that famous SIG reliability and it seems I may have it in my new P250.

Good to see another happy 250 owner. Took my 9mm compact to the range today(approx 800 rds) and it runs perfect, even with my own loads !

That sounds remarkably similar to my story. Full size 9 & I never turned on to S&W for some reason (I have a drawer full of Ruger SA revolvers instead) but my 250 was an impulse buy because the price was right and I'd been looking for a Sig for a long time. I'd never heard of the 250 before I bought it and was also distressed to read the universal scorn when I got online to learn a bit about my new toy.

Anyway - when I finally got around to trying it out over the 4th, 200 rounds of assorted discount fmj and there wasn't a single issue. As a long time 1911 fan, I wouldn't have been surprised to have a couple problems in the first 50 or even 100 until the thing was broken in. But not even that. It ran flawlessly. Granted, I was plinking in the woods and not on a range so I can't speak about accuracy, but functionally it appears as reliable as any I own.

The trigger seemed long and rough in the basement with snap-caps, but live firing (and after shooting a GP100 for a while) it wasn't bad at all. And "not bad" is a compliment from a guy that has shot mostly SA for the past 30 years.
A plan is just a list of things that don't happen.
