Retired LEO, went from a P250 Compact to a Full Size ( 357SIG ) with an X-Change kit for 45ACP.

Started shooting a 1911 45ACP when I went to the NRA National Matches @ Camp Perry at age 16 in 1960, and have not stopped shooting since.

Started in LE in 1970 as a bomb tech Air Marshal. retired as a Criminal Investigator / Bomb tech in 1995 and now teach HazMat / EOD operations.

I also have a Glock 38 ( 45GAP ) and a Glock 21SF ( 45APC ).

The 357SIG is a hot round and a lot of knock down power and more magazine capacity round for round.

Being a bottle neck round the 357SIG feeds smoothly and I can buy ammo easily than I can get ammo in 45ACP.

I pay .30 cents around for 357SIG with no problems finding it at all.

Quite a few LE agencies, including Federal Air Marshals are carrying the 357SIG round.

Sounds exciting, Id like to do LE but Im not sure if they will take me because of my tattoos. Id like to do Drug Task Force. Sick of drugs ruining kids lives. Hope you get all the info youve been looking for here. All you have to do is ask and Im sure that youll get a reply from someone.

10-4 thanx, glad to return the favor and assist anyway I can.

"INK" should not prevent you from going into LE work.
Take the test, LE agencies are always looking for recruits right out of the academy to do u/c work.

FAQ for getting employment with the Federal Government - this is a Federal Government Agency site, not a employment agency.

Not to hijack this thread I see you are in Georgia. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center ( FLETC ) is near Brunswick and they maintain a staff of armorers to service Government and personally owned weapons LEO's carry on duty weapons ( ALL flavors ) for student use, field repairs and support to agency operations. The good ole days the government let you keep the weapon you were issued and carried throughout your career, that no longer happens as far as I know.
