Hey guys, I'm gonna throw this out there to see if anyone is interested. I'm considering trading my fullsize 45 acp for a fullsize 9mm. It's had 800 rounds shot and the only problems have been with 185 grain WWB, everything else shot has never failed once. It is in excellent condition, I have cleaned it after every range trip and it is nearly new. It's just more expensive then I anticipated to keep shooting 45acp. I'm looking for a fullsize 9mm, new grip style in excellent condition with low round count. PM me if interested. Thanks.

Don't do it!

Unless you have a stable of .45's in reserve, keep this one and get the 9mm kit (which seems to be the only one available. Naturally I bought a 9)

The only reason I bought this is because I wanted something with a 17 rd capacity for, uh ... for ... well, that's not important. But what is important is that I have several .45acp's already so one puny little 9mm in my arsenal isn't going to seriously degrade my capabilities (heck, I have a couple of .380's but they're backup to several .45Colt SAA that make up for any anatomical deficiencies I might have)

Thats wrong, I (and sure others too) am perfectly capable of taking out a threat with a 9mm. I dont need big bullet power to do whats needed. Now Im not saying that I dont like big caliber bullets, Ive owned lots of 45's and lots of 9mm's. Not trying to start an argument but if thats what Rainman wants to do then more power to him. DO IT!!!!

There was a lot of sarcasm in my post. The .45 vs 9mm debate has reached the point of ridiculousness, which is why I threw in the "I have many .45's so I'm a real man" type comments and also the references to small anatomical features.

However, it's my understanding that you can put any caliber on a .45 frame but you can't put a .45 on a 9mm frame. Seems whoever ends up with the .45 gets the better end of this deal if true.

And the OP is just right next door to me.

9mm vs 45acp, I think they are equally good handgun cartridges. For me though, it's simple economics. I was saving for a fullsize 357sig, but who knows when that will be available. So, I may just buy a 9mm and save for a 357 kit. But still, if anyone is interested let me know.

9mm, .357 sig, and 40 S&W all share the same frame, the 45 is the only one that is different from the rest. So if you want to upgrade from 9 to 45 you need to buy the xchange kit (slide, barrel, guide rod, and mag) and buy the 45 frame.
Lets say you have a 45 and want to shoot 9mm. Then its simple just buy the xchange kit (9mm or whatever you want) and a 9mm/357sig/40s&w frame and there you go.

Wait a minute, you have to buy frames to change from 9 to 45 or 45 to 9mm? Yep.

CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG SIG GUYS but that how it works.

This is correct.

Also, the 9 vs. 45, its all about placement. Plus with the 9mm you will have a higher capacity.

I saw some guy on sig forum willing to split up a 2sum for 650, one buyer already wanted to buy the subcompact grip, mag and slide for 300 so someone could split it with him and get the complete fullsized for 350. I'd be all over this one if I was in the market.

Lockon, thanks for the heads up. I may very well be interested in a deal like this. I have to ask a favor of the forum members here though. I can't contact anyone on SIGforum because I am not a member, due to my free email address. Would anyone be willing to PM with the contact info for the original poster on this thread http://sigforum.com/eve/...f/350601935/m/1480027212
Any help is appreciated and I assure you no contact info would be abused in any way.

Don't bother, it's been soldSad

If you want to buy one I got mine from DBFlanagansguns. She was awesome and by far has the lowest prices on sig handguns. I'm thinking about ordering a P226 TacOps in 40 from her in the near future. I'll Pm you the price I paid.
