hi, first of all llet me state that sig has left a very sour taste, let me explain.
My first p250 was jamming an estimated 10-12 times per 100 rounds, the jacket of the ammo seems to get stuck above the feed ramp at the entry of the barrel, also the round will get stuck at an angle into the barrel. I have field stripped and cleaned, lubed and maintained-these problems occured strait out of the box. I have used many brands of ammo with the same result. I have sent the firearm back for repair three time, first response was their gun smith looked at it and nothing was wrong, second time the extractor was replaced, and the third time I was given a replacement P250. Guess what?- same problems occuring with the brand new one. I have had many compentent marksman fire the weapon with the same results as me; making sure i wasnt the problem. Im not limp wristing it and it also happens when putting in a full mag and releasing the slide, or just racking the slide. I think this model is a lemon. If anyone with some insight please let me know

I would think at this point that you have a good case for a full refund, unless you want to give Sig another chance to look at it.

you shouldn't have any issues with the p229, thats what the feds use. sorry you had problems with your p250.

I have the same thing. I've had my Sig P250 40 for about 3 weeks. Same thing.

I have s friend who is a Sig expert and he assures me it is the mag.

And he's going to show me how to fix it (hopefully today).

I will then take it to the range - and report back.

I understand what he told me the other day - I just want to get it 100% correct (and tested) - before I post anything here.

Basically... it's too much pressure on the front of the feeder platform... and there's a trick that can reduce that. When it is reduced - the FTFs will basically go away.

Your gun is not a lemon.

Citrusdog let me know. I am having terrible jamming issues also. Most of reloads and UMC ammo give me issues. The only thing that is consistent is expensive ammo which is too costly to use at the range.

does anyone know if the new grip style has changed the jamming issue? I was at a gun shop the other day and got to check out the new grip and mags. its fits so much nicer, and its a way more snug fit for the mag. It feels like it could solve the issue the .40 has been having.

What kind of jamb is the problem?

Hello all I'm new here, but my .45 sub P250 is having the same problem. I thought it was the ammo and switched ammo and still the same problem. A new Mag didn't help either. I am sending it to Sig Monday. Any ideas what to expect? Has anyone had this problem and got it fixed? Thanks for any help.

Getting mine back from Sig Thursday, They replaced the spring and the extractor....I hope this fixes it. This problem is very common with p250's Apparently a bad design on extractors has caused these problems or a bad batch got out. They always replace them then blame the ammo and a dirty gun. I know mine was not dirty as it was cleaned after every 100 rounds or so, plus was cleaned well before I sent it in. Same story they give everyone from what I've been told

CitrusDog and G1, any improvement? Reading these issues makes me reluctant to pick up the TWOSUM.

Most of you who are having jamming problems I believe its because of limp wristing when your shooting

First off ....Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your new P250ThumpUp

Don't send it back, just clean the hell out it when you get it and then go shoot it (run her wet). You might have to run a couple hundred rounds through her but I am betting it will be just fine. Let us know how it goes.

Please search for my other posts detailing the jams I experienced. I have managed to not limp wrist a P226, P228 , and an SP2340 through a few thousand rounds. I was as methodical as I could be detailing the Fail to Feed issue. The P250SC has a fantastic trigger, accuracy, and grip angle. Prior to the extractor upgrade and trigger group upgrade, it jammed more frequently than was acceptable. After the upgrades, courtesy of SIG, problem solved.

If shooters are not limp wristing other pistols, this should not be happening with the P250. The only sort of shooter induced malfunction that I can see happening is short stroking the trigger before full reset. I've done it once during a close combat series of shots, but that's it.

I realize any firearm can malfunction, that's why I practice malfunction drills. After ruined practice sessions because they turn into troubleshooting sessions, it erodes confidence in the weapon. I was very close to selling this gun if SIG could not make it right.

I just picked up my P250 compact in .40s&w and it runs like a dream. Only prep I did was clean out the factory lube and lube the contact points. The first 50 rounds were Winchester 165gr. FMJ and the pistol fired and cycled as intended. The next were Hornady TAP 155gr. HP and the same result. In my opinion the my P250 is smoother and more controllable then my Taurus .40 and is much more accurate. I don't know about the rest of the guys on this forum but I have "meathooks" for hands and I have no problem shooting without hitting the slide release that some guys complain about "resulting in jamming". Check your form and shoot the dogpiss out of the pistol. For those guys who worry about misfires etc. practice on a safe course with magazines loaded with live rounds and snapcaps. When your shooting and it doesn't go bang cycle the slide and keep going. May make the difference when it counts. Just switch up the placement of the snapcap so you don't anticipate the dead round and your on your way.

bought my sig p250 full size in early march 2011 nothing but problems with feeding 2 to 3 times per 13 round mag. No limp wristing, no reloads, gun clean and lubed, have used only top of the line target factory ammo from multiple manufacturers and with only the two original sig mags, slow controlled fire, rapid fire does not matter the thing might as well be a single shot that is about all I can count on. As a carry gun for personal protection- never, I guess I could shoot the round I chamber by hand then throw the gun at them and try to get out of there before they empty their HK or Glock into me. This one gets returned hoping for my money back I won't take another and FYI this is the new grip style.ThumbDown
