The sub compacts are here in southern California, Proforce in Brea had two, minus one now!

They would not let me leave the FCU with S/N in the case and try out the rest BigGrin Scared

FWIW the recoil rod is steel with a flat spring.

Congrats on your purchase. Let us know how it shoots. I think the kit to make mine into a sub is my next purchase.

The sub-compacts are out there, I just had to go to the store and ask for it. They didn't have them in the display case, but just got them in.

Ok here are the first pictures comparing the P250 9mm sub to compact to G26...

...and here I switched the sub and compact slide assy.s on their grip assy.s to show their relative sizes...

A few observations on the new subcompact in 9mm compared to my other compact model.

My first P250 compact was an EAU023xxx with a chemically etched number, the subcompact is a EAK004xxx with a scribed number.

The new EAK subcompact as received from the dealer/factory has white grease on the FCU wear surfaces and hammer springs whereas the first one EAU purchased had a brown grease only on the hammer springs and oil on the FCU wear surfaces.

Dry firing the new subcompact is amazing, its DAO trigger is ultra smooth. Hope to have a range report on it next week.

Wow, um, it doesn't seem to be that much smaller than the compact. Am I looking at it wrong? I think of a subcompact as something maybe 2x size of Ruger LCP. That looks bigger than that. Am I expecting too much out of a subcompact pistol?

I agree with you rah45. The slide/upper half is about the same size as a G26, but the grip is longer and thinner than the G26. The mag holds 12 compared to the G26's 10.

I just think that "subcompact" means that you could carry it anywhere, possibly even in your pocket, and be ok regarding concealment. I just thought that it would be a smaller profile. It does look like it would be a lot easier to conceal that the compact, even with the Crossbreed holster that I have. Maybe eventually I'll have all three sizes in 9mm and will be able to tell what I like the best. Right now, the compact is able to be concealed but also gives me the extra firepower. I think that I'd rather have either max concealability or max firepower rather than the compromise, though. That's the beauty of the gun though. I'll just pay for, basically, two extra guns for the price of one. Voila! Thanks, Sig!

Let's have those range reports! We're all excited to see how it turns out. I am wondering if the elimination of the trigger guard's front finger position will make the pistol more inaccurate or have no effect.

Thanks much!

Wow the subcompact runs great and has the same accuracy as the compact and full size. I ran 100 rounds of WWB without one hitch. Shot three strings of 30 and one of 10 on a B-27 at 15 yards. Shot 299 in the second string, one round just above the 9-10 line in the nine zone. I am so happy with the subcompact! I have an out of focus camera phone pic of the second string that I can post if you guys want :D

So what holster selections do you have for subcompact? It does not seem that the P250 compact holsters will fit. I can't find anything on the web yet.

My subcompact sports Sig's new grip assembly (the post Nov-09 version) based on the retangular mag well cutouts.

I checked w/ crossbreed first and they told me they have no immediate plans to make a holster for the subcompact (or fullsize either).

I called FIST and they said their new molds just arrived. I ordered an IWB kydex K1. It should arrive by mid-Feb and I'll post my review after I've carried it for awhile.

I mentioned it in another post but, I carry my sub-compact in a Crossbreed everyday. It fits them all since it essentially "holds" the center of the firearm. I've used mine to carry all 3 versions and did everything but hang upside down without any issues.

I'm surprised they failed to mention that.
