I'm not sure if it's P250-specific, but a lot of handguns including Glocks, Rugers, and S&W are coming down in price by about the same amount you're mentioning. Selection is getting better and most times, if I was looking for something in particular, I wouldn't have to drive to 5 or 6 places to find it. As for ammo, certain calibers have gone up a little, some down a little, and some didn't change. Finding what you're looking for is as much of a challenge as it was a few months ago.

2 remarks recently on sigforum.com about the 250 going the way of the do-do bird. So, I call my brother in N.H. and at his fire station they are talking about the same thing. Hope they are wrong.

Speaking of SigForum.com, how do you guys register on that site? They don't accept, aol, yahoo, or hotmail e-mail addresses. I hear of something worthwhile on it, but when I try to sign up, I remember they don't accept any of my e-mail domains, get pissed off, and forget about it until the cycle repeats in about a month.

use something like 10 minute mail (google it). Then change it once you are registered.

Thanks Hawk.

Here is the comment from Sig when I e-mailed them asking about termination of the 250 line...

"The 250 was awarded both the NRA's tactical gun of the year and the handgun of the year for 2009. We have sold more 250's this year so far then any of our other models. The 250 is not going anywhere. In fact we are working very hard to get the sub compact and the 357 models out this fall. The only thing that we didn't plan for was that the 250 would be this popular and the demand would be so great but, we are working very hard to get all the back orders filled and still get new models out. Let me know if you have any other questions. "

I returned his e-mail telling him how much interest there was in the rimfire kit and maybe a 10mm conversion.

No problem. That was the quickest the guy ever replied to any of my e-mails. I'm happy they're not trashing the idea but I'm still not convinced that they can't keep up with demand, etc. It's not like we're in a great economy. If they were really that backlogged, they should be going balls-to-the-wall with two 10-hour shifts, hiring like crazy, full-page ads in every gun mag, etc. Having orders on hand is nice, but they can also be canceled as quick as they were placed. And it must be the first time that something in such 'high demand' that they can't make enough of fast enough has actually come down in price as much as it has recently.

Ya, may sound too good to be true, but I'm hoping it is true.

That IS good news. As an owner of the 9mm 250, I pretty much have had my fill of all the 250 haters on the SIG FORUM. It almost seems as though there is an out-of-wack, out-of-proportion, irrational HATRED for a gun that the haters do not even own. Where does this come from? It makes me feel bad because the bad press these people give makes my gun worth less. Not that I'm selling but DAMN! It's just a little discouraging.

But disregarding all the irrational hatred, I love my 250. It is the easiest to carry, easiest to clean and easiest to shoot gun that I've ever owned....

As a 250 owner, does anybody else feel the way I do or am I alone... or do I care too much?

I don't think you are alone on this. I've mentioned to others before that the hatred towards the 250 reminds me of the hatred for Glocks back in the day. I think the 250 is a pretty good gun and that it has a ton of potential. Funny that folks that have never fired the gun speak so loudly about it's supposed poor performance. Oh well, looks like we are going to get some cheaper guns out of the deal, so let them bash away!

I agree that it appears there are many P250 haters out there. They seem to dwell on the reported instances of FTFeed, FTFire issues that some owners have experienced. Many believe a firearm should work flawlessly out of the box. I concur, but also know enough about firearms, that sometimes bugs have to be worked out and this is not unique to the P250 but to all firearms. It is a combination of firearm bugs and training bugs with that platform, both need time and effort to smooth out. I have had very good experiences with both the P250 and Sig customer service, hence I am a happy camper and a P250 evangelist! Looking forward to see what will happen with this model!

I was going to do a thread on this and still might but,
I have heard rumor the Federal Sky Marshalls are in the process of adopting the P250 as their oficial sidearm in .357 sig. Also I do know the Hong Kong Police are issued the P250.
Can't imagine it being discontinued, especially if the rumor of the F.A.M. is correct

I'd hope to see more PD pick up the P250 as a duty weapon. Make no bones about it...favoring firearms isn't much different than having a favorite football team :-) I DETEST the M&P line, my wife has one and loves it. But she doesn't have to take it apart & clean it, that burden is one that I must bear. Our local pistol shop/range has a few guys that have shelved their G19s/G23s for P250s. I'm thinking of getting out of my P250 in .45 or selling off my XD Sub to get into a P250 Sub.

I just picked up my P250 Compact 9mm at Cabela's on sale for $599.99. Regular price was $650 but all Sigs were on sale for $50 off. I was happy with that.ThumpUp

I picked up a 9mm P250 compact (phosphate finish) at Larry's here in Huntsville for $429... with two 15 rd mags and an Israeli composite holster. I'm super pleased. Never mind that Sig is going to change the grip design/finish and change the rail so my holster will no longer fit (see sig site). Gunsamerica.com has several (01/04/10) at similar prices: 967989242, 966066854... FWIW...

Bill, I picked mine up at Larry's also for the same price on 12/1/09. I'm pleased with the package but was a bit surprised at the grip change announced just after my purchase. I was in Larry's last week and noticed a sign that said the ".40 cal kits" would be permenantly out of stock. It was very crowded in there that day so I did not get a chance to ask about it. I'm planning to go to the range this week so I will ask then.

Nice going. Larry's had one heck of a sale. There is another thing: I noticed on Ruger forum that the mags were supposed to be 16 round, but many only held 15. The 15 round mags have a 12 coil spring, the 16 is 10 and the follower has a 'tit' in the middle of the bottom. Both of mine are that way. I called Sig today to see if I could order 16 round springs and followers and they said Sig no longer supports them and has no parts except for the 15 round version. I also asked if a SA or DA/SA trigger mod was in the works and they said 'no', due to the safety bits that would be required. I didn't ask about different caliber barrels and mags, but I expect the kits will be durn near what I paid for the one I have... Hmmmmph... It does shoot nicely, though...
