I ordered the P250 .357 Sig a month ago from and arms dealer friend of mine. Since then I've been doing a lot of research and reading blogs (glad I found this one by the way!). I have yet to find one review, article, nothing on the .357. My friend told me it would be 1 to 3 months before the gun came in. Now I'm wondering if it has even come out yet. Can someone help me?

Thanks,

chad

you friend is correct, the .357 hasn't hit the market yet. rumors persist that it wont be available until some time in the next few months. i have the 9mm sc and a .40 kit for mine so thats all i know that on the market for sure. i'm not 100% sure on any of the other sizes and calibers.

Hopefully it will be soon, this section is bare!! Some guys on SigForum stated that Sig said April will be the month that everything is suppose to be released. I would not put much stock in it however.

Thanks guys! Hawk, I sure hope you're right about April. I'm heading out of town with a bunch of friends in exactly a month for a big gunfest hootenanny Woot and I'd sure like to show off with my new p250. I'll be saddened if all we have are rifles and shotguns.

I received a call from a Sig rep the other day confirming that they got my online warranty registration. He was a nice guy and seemed really interested in my thoughts and comments on the gun. I asked him some questions about the 357 kits and interchangeability. He said that the 357 sets should ship out sometime in June. They're having a sale on the 357 drop in barrels for those who have the 40 uppers - 20% off MSRP - I think it came to about $163 shipped. The slide, recoil spring assembly and magazine for the 40 are all the same - it's just a barrel swap. If anyone is interested, I'll send out his name and number.

I asked the Sig rep this morning what the status was on the 357 barrels. He said that he was "hoping to get them out before this fall."

According to Sig Customer Service...

"I have been told the 357 kits and parts will be available for shipping the first few weeks of next year. I am sorry for the delay. "

What are the advantages of 357 Sig versus a 9 +p or +p+?

There's some good comparison data on the two rounds here...

http://www.handguninfo.c...com/9mm.357.compare.htm

I believe that the 357Sig cartridge still has more velocity and energy transfer than even the +P+ load. The Winchester law enforcement page has some good data on the two cartridges. I'm just trying to go for the trifecta on my P250 without buying a new grip assembly/mags.

Doesn't seem like this thread has seen any activity in a while. Too bad, 357sig is my favorite caliber. Does anyone have any new info about when these may be available? I'm really looking foward to a fullsize 357.
