Here is the .45:

Here is the original 9mm style:

Notice the .45 grip is "smoother" than the original. Also, the clip area is more squared off.

The .45 pic I found is a full size, so I am not sure if all full frames are this way and/or the compact .45 is the same style. I bet it is though.

I definately like the 9mm better. But impartial I am not. That said. The 45acp conversion kit will fit my compact 9mm right? Has anyone bought a conv kit yet or just the pistol itself in 45acp?

P.S. Hawk thanks for the pics.

No, it will not fit your current frame. The kit comes with a new frame and magazine in addition to the slide, barrel, spring, etc. So basically its a whole new unit except for the FCU.

Hawk my .45 compact looks exactly like the gun on your pic just a little shorter up front.

The 45acp grips are larger than the 9/357/40 due to the magazine sizes. So the FCU will fit, but you will need a new "caliber conversion kit" and grip assembly.

Hawk, This thread is yet another example of the Sig grip assembly change! They're making the 9/357/40 like the 45 grip assemblies wrt stipling and mag well cutouts! P250Sig forum is the history channel! :)

From what I've read the 45acp grips are the "New" style and the 9mm grips are the "Old" style. All the newer grip frames should be like the 45acp now. If I'm wrong please, someone let me know because that's just what I've picked up from looking for mags for the P250, 45acp that I'm planning on getting. The mags I found said "New Style Grip Frame Only" and they showed pics of both styles so that's where I picked up that little tidbit of info.

Frank - there are a few "tell-tale" signs of an old grip vs a new grip... look at the pics at the top of this thread... Notice that the Sig logo on the .45 is higher up on the grip and the old one is centered on it... all new 9/40/357 grips look the same as the 45. Also notice the finger notch on the old grip as well as the magazine plate... all newer magazines look the the 45 pictures as well as the finger notches at the bottom of the grip.
I once thought I was wrong... but I was mistaken.

Yes, they've changed the 9mm grip to the style of the .45 in the picture. But that's not all they changed. The revised 9mm takes a different magazine that is not interchangable with the old magazine. This is all described on the Sig web page:

The 'magazine' is interchangeable, the floorplate needs to be changed to the new style.

AH#104 is correct. Only the floorplate of the mag needs to be changed. I had 4 original style mags and Sig CS was kind enough to send me 4 new floorplates with a new style grip module so I could "convert" my 9mm/.40/.357 Compact grip module to match the P250C .45 I bought a year ago. The .45 only sold in the "new style" grip module.

I also swapped out the standard trigger on both FCUs to the short trigger, which works much better with my hand size. I'm not an armorer, and it was pretty easy. Here's a link that shows you how to do it in pictures (http://www.shanewhitlock.com/photo/v/leather/sig/fcu/g2_GALLERYSID=3aa0f15ab0a2f0894a7f0b5f1c56e73b). I bought the short trigger at TGS for $29.95 (http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-p250-short-trigger-black.html). They also have the different grip modules for $43.95. TGS is a great outfit to work with (no, I don't get a kickback for the plug).

I have the 45 in compact, i bought an IWB minotour holster, but they said it would be too tight for the 45 due to thickness- they are correct. Does anyone have pictures of the 45 side by side with the 40/357/9 version? from the top?. I have a 45 full size kit and a 40 S&W subcompact on order- new york issue on magazine sizes in the kits from sig(need to stay under 10). I am also going to "surf" later and pick the brains of the people wo can work kydex. Mybe I can heat to fit/modify??
