Range Session #2:
Only time for 150 rounds (in this order: 50 x Magtech 180 gr FMJ, 50 x Monarch 180 gr FMJ, and 50 x Speer 180 gr hollow point). Same magazine for all 150 rounds.
Round #26 (last round of second mag) - failure to feed. Round #33 empty casing stove-piped during rapid fire. Round #112 - empty casing stove-piped during non-rapid fire.
All in all not bad, I suppose. I think it's starting to break in. I suspect limp-wristing for the empty stovepipes. That's my fault, not the weapon's. I'm still working on how to hold it firm without a death-grip.
All 3 of my fail to feeds in 250 rounds have been on the last round of a full mag. I suspect a bad mag (the original, and the only one I have until my order from Sig arrives). The follower doesn't move very smoothly when depressed, even with the mag spring clean and lubed. Once I get more mags, I'll post those trials as well.
I've ruled out:
1. dirty weapon
2. excessive lube
3. thumb engaging the mag release during recoil
4. ammo. Although I had zero issues with the Monarch ammo, it was by far the dirtiest...the gun was dirtier after 13 rounds of Monarch than after 50 rounds of Magtech.
Still loving the gun...doubtful it's a lemon. I hope a new mag will solve the feed problem. If it is still consistently failing to feed with different mags, it will be going back to Sig. I will not use a weapon for CC/self defense that may or may not feed at the critical moment!! Apparently the P250C is slightly more susceptible to limp-wristing??? The medium grip seems to be the right grip for me. I've never had a limp-wrist problem with any other semi-auto I've fired. But, this is the first DAO that I've fired more than for just plinking. Maybe I need a better DAO trigger-pull technique. Any suggestions?
