I know it has been some time, but I finally got the P250 to the range. I shot 200 rounds. All of the rounds were WWB (100 of 165 grn. and 100 180 grn). All the rounds were fmj. The trigger was smooth and the pull was long but nothing that was unpleasant. It was like shooting my S&W 681 or 64. I set the target out to 15 yards just to see what she would do today. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive due to some of the problems I have read about with other P250's. There were two FTF's in the first two magazines with a round getting hung up on the feed ramp or nose diving. The first one took place on round number 13 in the first magazine. The second one took place in the middle of the second magazine. Then it did not do it again during the rest of the session. I purposely loaded the magazines three days prior to set the springs and see if I could avoid some of the issues with the magazines. Accuracy with the 165 WWB was lack luster at best. It was combat accurate but did not impress me. Recoil with the 165 grn was sharp and nothing unexpected from 40S&W. The 180 grn WWB was much better. My P250 seemed to prefer the 180 grn weighted rounds and accuracy settled down and I was able to consistently shoot the center and the head area of the target with no problem. I was much happier after the second 100 rounds. I did not clean her prior to taking to the range because I did not have a lot of TW25B grease to re-lube with and the factory lube looked sufficient and there was no real grime on her except for the extractor area when they shot her at the factory. The checkering on the back strap reminded me of the H&K USP 40F I used to have and after firing it I had the checkering imprint on the palm of my hand. The P250 did the same. I did short stroke the P250 a couple of times while firing it. I did not let the trigger reset before I tried to pull the trigger again. That caught me off guard, but I was not shooting a Glock or a 1911 and this pistol has a long reset.

Over all I am happy with the P250C. I would gladly have the trigger pull a little heavier to have a shorter trigger reset, but I am sure I will get used to it the way it is. I am also happy that there were no major issues where the pistol would have to be sent back to the factory for repair. After another few hundred rounds, I will look to have some carry leather made so, I can begin to carry it off duty after I have qualified with it. The P250C is definitely a unique pistol and it is not like any of its predecessors.

overall a good first outing i'd say. even better since you hadn't cleaned or lubed it from the factory. you might try a different brand of 165's next time to see if that improves any. i've found that mine likes the umc stuff a lot better than wwb but finding umc around here is kind of difficult so i use wwb and a little pmc when i run across them.

I was just happy to find ammo period. I had to go to several Walmarts to find what I bought. The department round is the Winchester Ranger RA40T 180 grn., so I am happy for the 180 grn. performance today. I had to roll the trigger like I do with my revolvers rather than the straight back pull of the Glock and 1911. It will take some getting used to, but over all it was a good outing and I hope it grows on me more.

Hawk,

I am not originally from Georgia. I am a Native New Yorker, but I have been in Gwinnett County for a long time. Good luck tomorrow. At some point we should get together.

Today, I finally got around to cleaning my P250C. I started with the Fire Control Unit (FCU). I started off with some CLP, my brush, and some Q-Tips and realized I was not getting all the gunk and filth off and then I accidentally popped the trigger bar return spring off and the domino effect kicked in. I went ahead and detail stripped the FCU. It is quite rudimentary. I am used to detail stripping 1911's so, I figured I would give this a go. It is interesting how Sig designed the FCU. It has a double spring mainspring that is housed in the hammer itself. To make a long story short, I cleaned it up and used the TW25B grease supplied with the pistol. got her all back together and the trigger is smooth and not gritty from grime. I need to get some more TW25B and I am also going to get some Slide-Glide as well just to be on the safe side. I may install the short trigger.

Love My .40! I had some early on FTF issues with Range ammo not feeding but getting stuck in an up angle with the bullet head or the shell rim sticking,, A swift hit to the bottom of the mag always fixes it,,, but Today,,,, no FTF's of any kind! I was told by the guys at the range that it might be a New Magazine, Strong spring issue, and that may be true because after firing about 1000 rounds through it, it is working fine,,, And,,, (Excited here,,,) I am getting used to the whole Double action only pull, and am starting to get the occasional 2-3 inch groups at 7 and 10 yards,,,,

I have customized this gun as much as I can with the short trigger and small grip module and I just love it!

All I need now to make my Sig P250 experience Perfect is a .357Sig barrel, and a 9mm conversion kit!ThumpUp ThumpUp

Anybody have ties at Sig to say when they will be selling the .357 Barrels for the P250? I have heard, and had confirmed,, at least by people who should know, that the .357 and .40 Slide, Magzine, handle etc,,, are Identical to the .40 S&W and to switch from .40 to .357 is the Barrel. Comments?

Thanks: 1 times
Hi brak,
I ordered my 357Sig drop-in barrel about 3 weeks ago. I originally bought the 9mm gun, then the 40SW kit, and was told that the 40 upper - less barrel - and the 40 mags will support the 357 with just a barrel change. Sig was offering then at a 20% discount off MSRP - it came to about $162-something. The guy told me it would ship by the end of June, but I'm not expecting it in the next day. Let me know if you want my rep's name and I'll send it off.
