I had the exact same problem. My 250 is in the 2500 serial number range (so I guess that qualifies it as an early one) and the first 150 rnds I fired had at least 30 FTE

I sent it to SIG and they replaced the ejector and ejector spring just as you said. 300 rnds later, not a single failure to eject.
