Looks like there is an on again - off again RFP for a new sub machine gun.

One competitor says they are developing a P320 conversion kit.

That could be interesting. Wonder if a civilian version would ever see the light of day?

It is sort of ironic that the DoD is jumping onto the PCC bandwagon. SIG already has the MPX but I would opt for something more AR like that accepts the same magazines as the standard issue handgun. While the semi-auto PCCs tend to be straight blowback, a short stroke piston with an adjustable gas block would make it easy to tune for sub-sonic or automatic fire. I'm not sure how much lower a big contract could drive parts prices down. It seems like the market is already flooded with lots of options at some of the lowest prices I have ever seen.
