Hey Sig Family,

Check it out. My P250C .40 suddenly stopped firing today at the range. I went thru maybe 20 rounds, then all the sudden, the trigger would lift the hammer back, and it would fall forward as hard as it ever has, but it didn't fire.

I took the slide off, and looked at the back end of the firing pin. Pushed on it with my index finger, and it obviously did NOT have the usually springing motion that is has in the past. No motion at all. I'm assuming my firing pin spring is either jammed, or just flat broken, and has to be replaced.

Anyone got any experience with this issue? I've seen the video on how to replace it. Looks like I have to punch out that roll pin and so forth, to disassemble the slide. Anyone ever replace the same spring? Any suggestions?

Wonder what caused the break? Too much dry firing?

Thanks for any good info and advice.
Sam

I took Sig's Armorers course for the P320 and while, obviously, they're quite different (striker fired vs. DAO w/ hammer), I have broken down the slide assembly of my P250. It's not easy (especially the first time), but if you watch the videos, go slowly and lay out your parts in the order you take them apart, you should be able to do it. I will say, the hardest part for me, is making sure you don't lose the small parts (pins roll everywhere and springs pop out unexpectedly). Using a magnetized mat helps and again, just going slowly/carefully. Good luck!

And you did make sure that the firing pin safety was not engaged, right?
