Is there a problem with the original that needed a fix or is the upgrade an upgrade for the sake of upgrading?

When first I changed my compact from 9mm to 45 acp the slide was staying open with rounds still in the mag. This did not occur when it was 9mm. Sig sent me that same slide stop & spring and it solved the problem.

The slide stop on the 45 is just a tad wider, it came in the 45 conversion kit I bought.

The new slide catch lever assy was released by Sig at the beginning of the year. It's common to all P250 models (size and caliber), as it's part of the FCU. Here's an earlier post to the forum with a pic of the new slide catch lever assy installed, plus a few more pics of the FCU; one with the new assy, and two with the original style slide catch lever assy. I upgraded all my FCUs with this change. Kit parts include:

1300302 SLIDE CATCH LEVER
1300429 SLIDE CATCH LEVER PIN
1300301 SLIDE CATCH LEVER SPRING
1300300 SLIDE CATCH LEVER SPRING CAP

Does the new slide release that comes with the .45acp kit work on the 9mm/.357/40s&w frames?

The New .45 slide stop kit came with my compact P250 .45 x-change kit. Took about 5 minutes to install it, and instructions say it will work with all calibers once installed, so no need to change back to use other calibers. Couldn't be easier.

How would u rate the difficulty on changing the slide stop? I hate messing with important parts on a weapon. Hearing about this has slowed my eagerness in wanting to get a .45acp kit. U would think sig would have thought this stuff through and did some r&d before releasing the product.

The kit I got came as 4 separate parts: the main body, spring cap, spring and bar. Installation is simple: take down the gun as if for cleaning. Remove the take down lever, and remove the fire control unit. locate the bar that the slide stop pivots on, and simply push the bar out with your finger. The slide stop comes right out.

On the new slide stop, push in the spring cap, put some grease on the spring to hold it in place, and put the spring into the hole in the cap, put the slide stop in place and push the bar through the two holes.

The hole thing sounds complicated but it only takes 5 minutes. It's actually very simple, and it gives you an appreciation of how simple this gun really is.

The old style slide catch would jam against the barrel lug of the .22 conversion.
