Has anyone installed a compact upper ( 357) unto a subcompact grip frame will it work.

I have seen folk that have done the sub top end with a compact frame , but not what I want. I like a longer barrel with the shorter frame.

I know this is an old thread but I was browsing for stuff on 357 Sig since I'm waiting on shipping of an x-change kit.

On that note, I have tried what you wanted to know to some degree. I put a full size slide on a subcompact frame. I know..extremes to the max. BUT it worked without a problem. The only problem I could see with a compact slide on a subcompact frame would be a small gap toward the front of the gun that may allow debris in more readily. Either way it should work like normal.

Here's an example I just stumbled upon only with a full size on a compact frame.

I wondered how that would look. I wonder if using the subcompact spring and guide rod is feasible. Might affect cycling though.Confused
