Guys,

Things happen for a reason. It's been an adventure, to say the least, since I last posted about this.

If you remember, I was considering my next purchase would be either a Glock 19, or a Sig P320C. (probably 9mm) I had a good momentum going toward getting a P320 from a local person, but I had this itch about a Glock. I've never owned a Glock, and I hadn't handled a Glock since the 90s, and had forgotten any impression I had of Glocks.

The P320 deal fell thru. I was irritated at the guy. He basically sold it when I was supposed to have first shot at it. Being a little steamed, I thought, Ok, I'll focus on the Glock 19 again. Armslist, Guntrader, etc etc, and I wasn't having much luck. They would sell before I could contact the seller. I guess people stay online all day waiting for new posts about Glocks for sale. Anyway, finally, this morning, I see a Glock 19 hit the site. $375 for a Gen 3 9mm Glock 19. I made contact with the guy, and he said he'd hold it for me until tomorrow, because he's busy till then.

I was all happy. I ran down to the local gun shop, and got my buddy who works there to dig up a Glock 19 Gen 3 for me to handle and see what I'm buying tomorrow. I'm NOT the least bit impressed with the Glock. It felt like I was holding a huge piece of plastic. i know it's polymer, etc, but it felt like a toy or something. And the ribbed grip doesn't feel at all right in my hand. In fact, I don't see what the big deal is about Glocks.

Now, I have all this remorse for promising the guy I'd show up with $375 tomorrow, and I'd rather apply that money toward a P320C. Wow, what an adventure. Now, I need to either bullS**t my way out of buying the Glock, or piss the guy off and tell him I've flat changed my mind that I was wrong to respond to his ad, without knowing for sure if I really wanted a Glock. I THOUGHT I would love the G19. Now, I'm telling myself I'm a Sig man all the way. I do own a S&W Shield 9 for concealed carry if I want to, but my favorite by far of all my pistols is the P250C 40 caliber, and by the way, I found a .357 Magnum barrel for it, for $138. Don't need to buy mags or anything else for the 357 swap, just the barrel.

Dammit. Got some decisions to make.

Hmmm, Buyers remorse before the deal closes is a clear sign that you need to close the deal quicker.
Shoulda, coulda woulda remorse is way worse if you back out and then the price goes up.
Or, buy both. :)

I've rationalized myself into buying both. Now that I'm over the shock of the Glock not being as "stout" and heavy as my P250, I've decided I'll buy it, and have the finger grooves removed, then a medium stipple job on the grip. Ive already watched a few videos on grip modification. I'll live thru this, and I'll go buy the Glock tomorrow. But dammit, I thought I'd fall in love with the Glock. It doesn't hold a candle to the Sig, for real.

As you've found, glocks are pretty popular on the resale market so no worries. Get the glock, put a few rounds through it just to be sure then put it up for trade and/or sale.

Xavier - great advice. I have time to figure out what I want to do. And you're right. G19s go quick!!!

I feel confident I could at least break even, if not profit on this Glock even after I modify the grip. Think I'll take it to the gun range this afternoon and talk to my buddies who work up there.

I can say this - having never handled a Glock until now, the Sig totally outclasses a Glock in my opinion. My P250C 40 is in a higher class for sure.
