Well, received my shipping instructions and label on Wednesday. So, packed up my P320 and sent the puppy in to Sig on Thursday. They say a 4 to 6 week turn around.

I will keep you informed.

I may, if you ask nicely, even include some pics when the pistol is returned with all these nice, new, super secret parts.

People have started getting them returned after a short time, and favorable reports are on the other fora already.

I'm still waiting for my labels.

SIG now has a video out that details the work entailed in the upgrade

Waiting for my instructions and label as well, looking forward to hearing how your experience goes. And thanks for the youtube link, that was helpful to see the differences, side by side like that.

Good afternoon. Here is the update. Fedex just dropped off my pistol Exactly 2 weeks since I dropped it off, per the instructions, at a fedex facility.

So, opened the box. Just like the pistol in the video. By looking at it, you would not know it was changed. No tool marks, nothing. (That's why there are no pics)

Now in the video, Sig spokesman mentions 2 or 3 times that you will feel an improved trigger, with little or no change in trigger pull weight.

I used my Lyman trigger gauge before sending in the pistol. Right at 7lbs. Today, 6lbs 2 ozs. The difference is in the pull. Less than 1/4" take up, very clean break. Feels like half as much as before.

I was happy with the stock trigger before. Not a 1911 trigger, but one of the better semi auto triggers in my personal experience.

This trigger is a DEFINITE improvement over the original.

Outside of the improved safety feature (which I was not THAT concerned about, I do not normally drop pistols at specific angles), I was looking for an improved pistol. That is what I got....for free....for only a two week turnaround.

Oh yeah, new P320 x series owners manual, plus 25% discount coupon on my next Sig purchase.

That coupon will be great. It will reduce my next purchase from Sig to only pay about double for something I can get elsewhere.....what a deal.

YMMV

Thanks for the update.
Question Did you already have a P320X model?
You mentioned you received a new P320X owners manual.
The X has a straight trigger and the action would be different then the standard P320 models.

No, I have a P320, purchased in spring of 2015. I am assuming they sent the book for the P320 because the internals match the P320x. But that is me guessing.

I have, since my last post, taken the pistol to the range. The different trigger does make a difference ( to me, at least). Will take some time to get completely comfortable with the change. Although many people would find it a minor difference, it has had an effect in my training sessions. My dot torture routine is easier to run. But that is as far as I have worked.

Keep us posted.
I am still reluctant to send it in.
I am so happy with the trigger action as it is and shoot real well with it.
I just keep thinking about that saying if something isn't broke don't F with it.

Thanks

Roy,

I understand you reasoning. I have went that way many times. In this case, I am pleased with the result. Not being an expert, but this looks excellent. You would have to studied the internals to know that any changes had been made. It looks like it came from the factory this way.

Plus, It is nice to know that my pistol is now current with the upgraded P320's being sold today.

Compared to how Gaston Glock dragged his feet in 1992, fixing his pistol (over two years), when it had a similar problem. Sig is a class operation.

Thanks for the update and info! I've been contemplating sending mine in as well. I figure there is no loss for me since I shoot my single 320 so much less than my multiple 250's.

Time line on my 9SC:

11/17 Received shipping instrux and label.
11/22 Dropped package off at FEDEX
11/27 Package received by SIG
12/6 Received Shipping notification
12/8 Chased FEDEX driver down on way to range for qualification and picked up the package.

I put 39 rounds through it, trigger was nice and crisp with a fast reset. The takedown lever was a bit stiff but not a problem. The grip module had been replaced with one with a longer beavertail. The work appeared to be done in a very clean manner and there was no problem in taking down or reassembling the pistol.

Now I am waiting for my notification to send in my 45C.
