I had a Taurus PT140 Millennium Pro. It was the 2nd generation- not the original Millennium (without Pro in the name), but the first gen of the Pro series. It was a true DAO before they switched to the odd SA/DA system. Anyway, I still have it, but speak of it in past tense because it hasn't worked for several years and haven't yet sent it out to Taurus for repair.
I used to love the gun. It was reasonably accurate (I used to think it was great on accuracy for a subcompact or smaller compact, until I started shooting other small guns), it was very reliable (until it broke

), it was comfortable to shoot, and it is small and light enough for comfortable carry. Through a thousand or two rounds it had only a couple minor hiccups, until it finally broke in such a way as to make it useless and would have been a catastrophic failure in a self defense situation. The firing pin is locked forward (I'm lucky that when it finally chambered a round it didn't go off). Usually that keeps it from chambering, though there have been a few exceptions where it will chamber and fire the first round. Something that catastrophic and potentially dangerous definitely soured me on the gun.
I also have a .45ACP P250 Compact. Love that gun, very accurate (for any size), comfortable to shoot, small enough to carry, it is my "just right" gun. 10 rounds (9 in mag, one in the chamber) of .45ACP is quite comforting. It has been 100% reliable.
That is to say, I think you made the right choice.
